Now using extension and add-ons you can generate QR codes and then using QR scanning apps present on your mobile, open urls, contacts, messages etc. So in short QR code technology comes as a boon and today we will be reviewing the best QR code scanning apps available for iPhone, and iPad.
QR Code Scanners Only
1. Scan : Well if there is an app that is lite and quick in reading qr codes, it has to be Scan. The app contains no advertisements or in-app purchases and is completely free. It has two sections, Scan and History. To scan a code just focus your just focus it on the code and it will immediately open the same and you would not even have to press a button.
One does not have to re-scan previously opened pages as you can access the preciously scanned pages under history and open from there. The only thing that I miss is that it had barcode scanning functionality as well.

2. QRReader : QRReader is like an upgraded or feature packed version of Scan. It offers Auto-detect scanning mod, Sharing using email, facebook or twitter, Integrated web browser, Integrated map view and creation of QR codes of contacts, urls etc.
The app also has manual mode where you can select the camera and then capture the image of the code to open it, instead of using auto-detect which could be inconvenient at times.
Alike Scan it also has history sections and apart from that it also has a favorites section. So in case you want to put a or a scanned code to your favorites and open it later.

3. QR Scanner : The QR Scanner is by far the fastest scanner according to us and amazed us with its speed. It does not have any special features to use while focusing on a QR code but is extremely convenient to use. The app is again very basic like Scan but is faster.
Disappointingly the app does not have an inbuilt browser and also does not scan barcodes.

4. Neoreader : Neoreader is a brilliantly fast QR code scanner and is at par with QR Scanner but alike the same it does not have an inbuilt browser which makes it less interesting as Safari will have to be opened every time and it will eventually use more phone memory.
It also has history section and other settings from where auto open can be disabled.

Barcode And QR Code Scanner
5. Redlaser Barcode Scanner And QR Code Reader : This is a very feature rich barcode and qr code reader and provides additional information on the same. it searches thousands of online and local retailers for the best prices and features product results from Google, TheFind, eBay, Milo, American Express, and many more. Apart from that it scans pretty fast even without autofocus, which is quite nice.
With Red;aser you can organize and share your scans and also create wish lists and shopping lists and share them with friends and family to make shopping and gift-giving much easier.

6. Scanlife Barcode, QR Code and UPC Scanner : Although Scanlife searches barcodes, qr codes and even UPCs, it is a bit sllow on recognition and that is why it is quite down on the list. It has a history section and settings but a really interesting feature is of Live Feeds where you can have a look at recently scanned codes across the globe, find the information of that very product and even buy the same in a few clicks.
One of its downside is that it does not have an inbuilt browser and therefore falls in the same category as NeoReader and QRScanner.

7. Bakodo Barcode and QR Bar Code Reader : This is again a nice barcode and qr code scanner and is faster than Scanlife. Alike Scanlife it offers product information and latest deals on the same. You can also save products to your favorite list and then review them later.
Unlike Scanlife it has an inbuilt browser so it won’t open up Safari every time and will also be light on RAM.
